  •    Tamara-2000 plant is located  in  Karbi   Village,   26. 7  km  from  Yerevan. The plant occupies 35. 000 m2 area. It was established in 1986 and operated as a tin package producer factory till 1991 when a production line for canning was purchased and installed. Fruit preserves were produced till 1994.

  •    Sargis Galstyan, the current general director of  the  cannery  privatized, reconstructed and renovated the company in 1996. Ashtarak Cannery restarted the production of rose, walnut, apricot, fig, pumpkin, peach, cherry, and raspberry preserves and jams.

  •    Taking  the  advantage  of  the  increasing  market   for   frozen   fruits   in Armenia and Russia, the company added new production line supplying frozen fruits to the local companies Grand Candy, Lactis, Olers and Tamara Ltd. and Russian Wimm-Bill-Dann Group. This business appeared to be rewarding.

  •    The  annual  production  volume  is   500   tonnes.   Currently   the   plant operates at 50 % of the capacity and has an opportunity to double the production as necessary. Export markets are Russia, Ukraine and Lebanon.
