  •    Mastarachedo LLC is located 79.3 km North West of Yerevan in  Mastara Village, Aragatsotn Region. To organize cheese production Mr. Henrik Mkrtchyan founded the cheese plant in 1999. Before running cheese business Mr. Mkrtchyan was involved in pork breeding and has long experience in business management. Mr. Mkrtchyan was already confident in the success of the business when he purchased a farm with 130 heads of cattle.

  •    He hired 20 employees  to  manage  the  farm  and  organize  the  cheese production. Mastarachedo entered the market with Armenian salty cheese varieties Lori and Chanakh. High quality of the product is guaranteed with processing exceptionally the milk of the company-owned farm.

  •    Aragatsotn  Region  has  natural  favorable  conditions  for  making  blue cheese and is famous with cheese masters who know the secrets of blue cheese production. After conducting a research in the local market the company decided to restart the production of blue cheese.

  •    The company annually produces 30 tonnes of blue and  Armenian  salty cheese varieties. Lori cheese is vacuum packed in 4.5-kilo rectangular blocks and blue cheese is packed in foil in 2.2-kilo wheels.

  •    The products  of  the  company  are  highly  demanded  in  the  domestic market. Mastarachedo is continuously improving the quality of the production. The management is enthusiastic with the success and is eager to increase the annual production volumes and start the production of Yellow cheeses, particularly Emmental cheese.

  •    Main competitors for blue cheese produced  by  the  company  are  Talin Cheese Plant which operates in Aragatsotn Region and cheeses imported mainly from France.

  •    Mastarachedo  LLC  presented  the  products  in  the  First   International Exhibition ArmprodExpo in Yerevan, Armenia in 2001 and received excellent comments regarding the quality of the products.

  •    USDA Marketing Assistance Project (MAP)  has  significant  contribution in the establishment of blue cheese production in the region. USDA MAP imported Penicilium Roqueforti from the USA and France to guarantee high quality cheese production.
