  •    Meghri, one of the gorgeous regions of  Armenia,  is  rich  with  delicious sun flavored fruits. Meghri Cannery OJSC was established in 1930 as a producer of jams, comfitures, preserves, fruit butters, juices, compotes, syrups, and dried fruits. The company is located 377. 5 km from Yerevan and 0. 5 km to the Northeast of the center of Meghri City.

  •    The production facility consists of fruit  selection,  processing,  canning, packaging, and labeling departments and a warehouse.

  •    Privatized in 1996, the cannery continues to process peaches, cornelian cherries, rose hips, pomegranates, figs, quinces, apricots, pumpkins, walnuts, and raspberries. Fruits and vegetables used for production are grown only in Meghri Region and are delivered to the cannery on a daily basis insuring freshness of the raw material.

  •    The 40 employees of the cannery assist the Director,  Grisha  Grigoryan, to produce and market 18 varieties of jams, preserves, and syrups by adapting traditional technologies of fruit processing and canning to today’s requirements. Meghri products are high quality and healthful: walnut preserve is rich with iodine, fig regulates blood pressure, cornelian cherry is useful for colds, quince is helpful for throat inflammations, and pumpkin aids digestion problems.

  •    Annual production capacity is 1 million jars  of  preserves  and  3  million jars of fruit butters and jams. Actual production varies between 250 and 300 thousand jars.
