The preserves and jams are canned
in 450-850 g twist-off glass jars.
Product shelf life is 1-2 years. Jars for the local market are
shrink-wrapped in plastic packs. Products are packed in
cardboard boxes for the export market.

Products are
sold wholesale
through the
cannery’s Yerevan office-warehouse.
The office has established international trading
relationships. During 2000-2001 shipments were made to the
seven countries: the U.S. - 2 tonnes, Canada - 30 tons,
Lebanon - 10 tonnes, Israel - 40 tonnes, Germany - 20 tonnes,
Latvia - 10 tonnes, Russia - 40 tonnes. In 2001-2002 the
company has exported its products to Latvia - 30 tonnes,
Estonia -10 tonnes, and France -10 tonnes.

Successful participation in these international and local
exhibitions and trade shows helped the company gain
product recognition and confidence: San Francisco Fancy Food
Show in 1998; Cairo Food and Equipment Exhibition in 1998;
Moscow Food Show in 1999 where the company was awarded with
the First Place Award for its fig jam; Berlin Fruit Logistica
Exhibition in 2001; a number of Exhibitions in Japan, the US
and Lebanon; the First International Exhibition ArmprodExpo
2001, Yerevan, Armenia;
10 Years of CIS International Exhibition 2001 in
Moscow, Russia. Participation in these exhibitions was
facilitated by the United States Department of Agriculture
Marketing Assistance Project (USDA MAP) technical and
financial support. The company also participated in an
Exhibition in China with the support of the Ministry of
Agriculture of Armenia.

Meghri cannery continued to take active
participation in the local and
international exhibitions in 2002 that opened up opportunities
for increasing their export and engaging into new countries.
During 2002 the company took part in 9th International Fair
ProdExpo 2002 in Moscow, InterFood 2002 IV International
Exhibition in St. Petersburg, Armenian Food Products
(Presentation/Tasting) in Minsk Belarus, ArmprodExpo 2002 in
Yerevan, Armenia.

Cooperation with USDA MAP began
in 1997. The project
provides financial and in kind loans, helps import twist-off
jars, assists in designing labels, promotional materials, and
creating commercials. USDA MAP facilitated also to acquire
filling and labeling line.

chemical additives, made from fresh fruits
and vegetables harvested in 2002.
