with a 17-18th c. church and ruins of a castle locally called
Smbataberd; residents came from Salmast in 1828. Two km S is S.
Hakop shrine of 1072, with S. Marinos shrine
nearby.

(until 1935 Pashaghu, then until 1957 Azizbekov), with 13th
c. khachkars, a modern church, and traces of an old fort.
